Who Are We?
Our team consists of people with skills in graphic design, website design and a range of business, writing and marketing related disciplines. Those skills have been applied in many industry sectors for businesses of all sizes. While we do work with freelancers and contractors, we rarely bring in new people. Our independent partners work as team members on a project basis. Maintaining team chemistry as a cohesive and collaborative unit is an important priority. We have found success in seeking to attract new team members with diverse experience
Tom started Rising Arc Marketing in 2015. He had spent the better part of the previous 16 years in the Greater Boston and Metro West high tech community as a technical recruiter. He was a department of one in two Boston area telecom startups for multiple years before each found a successful exit by acquisition. Half of his career was spent between consulting to tech product companies and third party recruiting firms.
During the recession that began in 2008 recruiting work dried up. Tom started a company in freight transportation which he ran for three years. A customer default on a large credit line brought an end to the company. This failure inspired him to launch Rising Arc.
Tom returned to recruiting and began studying inbound marketing as a means to expand his recruiting practice. His interest in marketing grew. With it grew the range of marketing concepts included in his studies. Over the next two years a mix of this work and guidance he received from mentors helped his studies advance quickly.
In light of his previous failure, Tom launched Rising Arc specifically for small businesses to help business owners shorten time to profitability, build stronger brand awareness and better secure their businesses in the event of a disaster.
Today, Tom runs a series of projects alongside Rising Arc. He is also team owner and president of Worcester 78’s, a pro basketball teeam in his home city that prides itself on it community service work. He also runs a business listing and coupons site to help match local residents to local businesses.
